Organized by the Central European Forum, the second annual convention that gathered about 300 participants and over 50 local governments was held in Krusevac on March 26.

For the results in application of ‘green energy’, energy efficiency, waste and water management, the charter ‘Leader of sustainable development’, from the region of Central and Eastern Serbia, has been awarded to Leskovac.

The representatives of cities and municipalities presented directly to potential investors and companies infrastructure projects and projects in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy and environmental protection.

The following participants took part in the convention: the representatives of the Ministry of construction, transport and infrastructure, as well as the representatives of large companies (LG Electronics, Knauf Insulation, Naue Opticus…)

The objective of the program was to stimulate the capacities of municipalities and cities, public utility companies and public institutions which will due to responsible leadership become successful and sustainable cities.

In addition to Leskovac, Bela Palanka, Boljevac, Bujanovac, Cicevac, Cuprija, Dimitrovgrad, Kladovo, Krusevac, Mali Crnic, Nis, Paracin, Petrovac na Mlavi, Pozarevac, Razanj, Smederevo, Sokobanja, Trstenik, Varvarin and Zajecar have been awarded the charter.
