The ambassador of India in Serbia Narinder Chauhan opened the event ‘The Days of Indian culture in Leskovac’ which takes place in Leskovac Cultural Center from March 31 to April 15.

The backbone of the event is two exhibitons. The first is called ‘Temples, fortresses and palaces – 2000 years of Indian architecture and includes 40 panels with representative examples and descriptions of objects.

The second exhibition consists of digital reproductions of fine arts whose author is Rabindranath Tagore, a writer, philosopher, and painter. This exhibition was organized on the occasion of 150th anniversary of birth of the Indian Nobel laureate and last autumn it was presented to the audience in Belgrade, Zrenjanin and Novi Sad. It comprises 45 digital reproductions of selected drawings, watercolor and paintings on different subject matters.

During this event lectures, the cycle of Indian films will be organized as well.

At the very opening, on behalf of the City of Leskovac, all the present were welcomed by Marija Jovanovic, an Assistant of the Mayor.
