The President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the mayor of Leskovac Goran Cvetanovic Phd were present today on the official opening of Aptiv Packard in the Greenfield zone in Leskovac.

The representatives of Aptiv Packard Marko Masano and Urlih Eihler were also present, the latter pointed out that this company enjoys a huge support of the Republic of Serbia and the city of Leskovac. He added that they decided to open a factory in Leskovac due to business friendly environment, competent workforce and local infrastructure.

The mayor Goran Cvetanovic PhD said that this factory is very significant for Leskovac and that the local self-government makes effort to improve the economy and make Leskovac a commercial centre in south of Serbia.

“Today we are in the Greenfield zone in a factory in which the city of Leskovac invested 152 million of euro and 124 million for the area which is given to “Aptiv”. 500 people work in the factory, and at least 2500 people will be employed in the future. “, said Cvetanovic.  

„He thanked the representatives of Aptiv for choosing Leskovac as well as president Vucic, the honourable citizen of Leskovac, for loving this city, the south and Serbia.

The president of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that the Republic will finance connecting the factory to the gas network with the amount of 68 million dinars and a construction of new electro-installations with 45 million dinars. Vucic added that this is the second factory of Aptiv Packard in Serbia.

“This will make significant difference in Leskovac and the whole of Jablanica District. I am proud of the fact that 1200 cables for Mercedes C class are produced here. 3000 people will work here in a year and a half. This is not the last investment in Leskovac, we wish to open RND centre and additionally improve the standard of living in Leskovac”, said the president.
